Instrument types
Removes leveraged/inverse/turbo products. Takes effect on next universe refresh.
Banks, insurance, REITs — Graham MoS is already excluded for these but skipping them entirely saves scan time.
Deletes stocks that return fewer than 4 metrics — shell companies, SPACs, empty listing stubs.
Removes genuinely small, illiquid stocks. Threshold is in $ billions — 1.0 = $1B minimum. Recommended: 1.0–2.0 for a diversified portfolio.
Country risk
CN, RU, IR, KP, BY, VE, CU, SY, MM, SD, LY, IQ — geopolitical and sanctions risk make these uninvestable for most UK investors. Removes Chinese ADRs and Russian listings.
IN, BR, TR, HK, TW, IL, SA, EG, AR, etc. — includes many legitimate emerging market opportunities so use with caution.
Excluded instruments
T212 tickers that returned "instrument not tradeable" errors when placing a trade. These are skipped automatically on future attempts. Remove an entry if you believe the ticker mapping was wrong and want to retry.
